Thaddeus has been out drinking again…!

Here is what he was tasting and what he thought about them:
2006 Tenuta DI Trecciano Chianti Colli Senesi, DOCG Riserva — It’s dark, cherry fruit, almost plum-like, with great acidity, big tannins and a long, sumptuous finish. This wine is a great buy at $14.99.

Kupelwieser Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2008 — I love the great minerality and acidity wih this wine but then there also are complex fruit notes of apple pear. Did I mention it’s very delicate on the palate? Pack this for a summer picnic — heck do it for spring! At $9.99 it’s a great wine for the next two seasons.

Pride Mountain 2005 Merlot — All I can say is “Wow!” When I first opened this bottle of wine, I was overwhelmed by the smell of blueberries, as if I were in a blueberry field (though I never have been!). It’s a deep, ruby red that was a burst of blueberries and chocolate on the palate. And then as time passed, it evolved into a richer wine that got more and more complex throughout the night. What a wonderful surprise. It’s a must but tough to find. Don’t spend more than $50.
