Randolph Wine Cellars in Chicago hosted one of our favorite winemakers, Christian Tieje from Paso Robles’ Four Vines Winery. The tasting was, well, tasty, with some of the best wine that Four Vines makes.
Tieje has coined the phrase “naked” referring to Chardonnay made with no oak. It’s a very good wine with juicy apple fruit and lively acidity.
We both agree that it’s the best naked Chard we’ve tasted so far.
Tieje has roots in the East Coast and as a lover of oysters he created this wine pair perfectly with the little guys. What else is great about this baby? The price. At $12, it’s hard to beat.
